The end of the road
Today, Dave boarded a bus bound for Hastings where he’s going to look for orchard work… maybe at Rakaunui again. Me? I’m staying in Wellington; my job search here was more successful, and I’m starting my first day at an English Pub tomorrow. It looks like our adventure together has finally come to an end… at least for now. These are just a few pictures from the past week.

Didn’t know the Maori had such Roman looking poses.

A 7 dollar boat cruise on the most glorious evening.

Oriental Bay

Watching the Pats destroy the Chargers in the AFC Championship game at a
sports bar. The game was live, so it aired at 9 in the morning, unfortunately we
only got to see the last quarter of the game because the bar didn’t open
until 11. I’ll take any dose of NFL I can get though.

The example drawings on the far left. I think I messed up.

A street performer on Cuba Street.

Running into Camille & Mathias after a poker game at J.J.Murphy’s. Of all
people… in all places… reaffirming my theory that Wellington is a small town
disguised as a big city. Too bad they weren’t in there playing poker though…
now THAT would’ve been fun.

Godfreys… “even your grandchildren will be talking about it”!

Bucket fountain in action.

Hanging out in Dan’s flat. Probably feeling slightly annoyed.

As far as processed food goes in NZ, Watties rules.
It’s great, except that their tomato sauce (ketchup) tastes
horrible. I always opted for good ole’ american Heinz
ketchup. Imagine my amazement when I learned that
Watties is owned by Heinz. Should’ve picked it up from the
similar packaging… duh.

A seagull almost looks magestic midflight.

A family playing cricket on the beach.

Dave with his broken skateboards… both broken on one day. It was tragic.

Last meal. Very appropriately, a magnificent pizza.

Drew this with the facebook graffiti tool while watching a shitty movie at Dan’s flat.
Unfortunately, the internet connection timed out and I couldn’t upload it there.
Fortunately, the movie ended.

And that is where this chapter ends.
